【概要】
USDM 左ハンドル仕様
エンジンを車軸よりもボディ中央寄りに配置するミッドシップ。MR2はこれを日本で初めて採用した2シータースポーツカー。外観は直線的でローシルエットなフォルムで、当時としては画期的なデザインを採用。搭載されるエンジンは1.6Lスーパーチャージャー付き直4DOHCエンジンで、少々トリッキーな乗り味が魅力だった。内装のデザインは外装同様に直線的で、狭い車内でも開放感を味わえるようにインパネを低くするなどの工夫がなされた。また3ディメンションスピーカーシステムやリアコンソールボックスなど狭い車内でも快適に使える装備を採用した。

The MR2 AW11 is a small, lightweight mid-engine coupe introduced by Toyota in 1986.
AW11 SC had the same engine as AE86 (4A-GE) but equippted with supercharger and its output was slightly better than standart 4A-GE and it was called 4A-GZE.
Even after production of the car was discontinued in 1989, many privateer teams and drivers still use MR2 MK1 for rallying or racing today.
