【概要】

メルセデスのボトムレンジを担うモデルがCクラス。開発コンセプトであるダイナミズムとエレガンスを表現し、かつCd値0.26を達成するエアロフォルムを纏った、メルセデスとしてはコンパクトなスポーティセダンである。プレミアムモデルとしてラインアップされるC320にはAMGデザインのエアロパーツや17インチAMGアルミ＆ワイドタイヤ、スポーツサスペンション等を採用したセットオプション、スポーツパッケージが設定されるほか、218馬力の3.2L V6エンジンを搭載する。Dレンジにセットしたセレクトレバーを左右に動かすだけでシフトチェンジが可能なティップシフト付き5ATを介して後輪を駆動、非常時にはブレーキやエンジン出力をコンピューター判断により自動制御する。リヤシートは2対1の分割可倒式シートで積載性も考慮。安全装備として全車にデュアル&前後サイド&ウインドウエアバッグ、エレクトロニック・スタビリティ・プログラム（FR車）、ブレーキアシスト、ABS、フォースリミッター&テンショナー付きシートベルトなどを標準で装着。

The C 32 AMG is a rear wheel drive sedan/saloon car with a front placed engine, manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Benz C 32 AMG belongs to the W 203 range of cars from Mercedes-Benz. It's powered courtesy of a supercharged engine of 3.2 litre capacity. This powerplant features double overhead camshaft valve gear, a 90 degree V 6 cylinder layout, and 4 valves per cylinder. It has an output of 349 bhp (354 PS/260 kW) of power at 6100 rpm, and maximum torque of 450 N·m (332 lb·ft/45.9 kgm) at 4400 rpm. A 5 speed automatic gearbox transfers the power to the wheels. With a stated kerb weight of 1635 kg, the Mercedes-Benz C 32 AMG performs the 0-60 mph yardstick in 4.6 seconds and the standing quarter mile in 13 seconds.
