【概要】

2007年、AMG社の創立40周年を祝う国際試乗会で、CLK63AMGのピュアスポーツバージョン「ブラックシリーズ」のフラッグシップとして注目されていた「CL65AMG」。
ブラックシリーズは、ピュアなスポーツカーエンスージアストをターゲットとする。
外観は挑戦的で、大きなフロントエアダム、左右計93mmも張り出したオーバーフェンダーなどによって、エレガントなCLKのフォルムは一転、獰猛な雰囲気すら漂わせている。
AMG自社開発のV型8気筒6.2L DOHC4バルブユニットも、吸排気系の改良で最高出力を507psに引き上げている。そして7Gトロニックは、ギアの繋がりを重視して最終減速比が6％低められた。
