【概要】

アウディがハイパフォーマンスモデルに対して使用してきた「S」モデルには、伝統的に高性能なエンジン、クワトロフルタイム4WDシステム、そしてSモデル独特のデザインが採用されている。アウディRS4は、最量販モデルであるアウディA4の最もスポーツ性が高いモデルとして最高峰に位置し、4.2L V型8気筒FSIエンジンを搭載する。420psのハイパワーを発生し、最大トルクは43.8kgmとする。ダイナミックライドコントロール（DRC）を装着。右フロント/左リヤ、左フロント/右リヤと対角線上に連結されたダンパーの油圧フローを制御することで、発進加速時（スクワット）や制動時（ノーズダイブ）、あるいは高速コーナリング時（ロール）の不快な挙動を大幅に低減させる。

Back in 2006, Audi raised the bar once again in the sports car segment, creating another milestone.

The naturally aspirated V8 (of 4,2 litre capacity) produced 420hp at 7800 rpm and a maximum torque of 430 nm at 5500 rpm. It was so good Audi put it in its flagship supercar, the R8.

Power reached the wheels thanks to a 6 speed manual transmission and an evolution of the famous Quattro AWD system.

Maximum speed was electronically limited to 250-60 km/h while driving aids already included an electronic differential.

Working with ABS, all wheel drive and traction control, it gave the car an outstanding level of handling even at high speeds.
