El Citroën Xsara Kit Car es un coche de rally derivado del Citroën Xsara , fue construido por Citroën Sport basándose en el Reglamento de la FIA kit de coche F2 para participar en el Rally Campeonato de Francia, en la que entre 1998 y el 2001.

Desde 1990 y hasta 1997, el Citroën Sport compitió en rally raid con ZX Grand Raid , tomando varios resultados de prestigio, el ZX mientras tanto comercialmente fue reemplazado por un nuevo modelo, el Citroën Xsara, de los cuales el equipo francés decidió desarrollar una variante de competencia para usar en el Campeonato de Rally de Francia. El coche de carreras fue diseñado para el FIA de 2 litros Kit Car, vehículos con 2 ruedas motrices con un motor de 2 litros de cilindrada con potencia atmosférica.

El Xsara Kit Car, con una potencia máxima de 280 CV y un peso mínimo de 960 kg, pronto demostró ser muy competitivo, Philippe Bugalski ganó el título en 1998 y 1999, en 2000 el Citroën fue galardonado con los fabricantes europeos de título y en el año 2001 Sébastien Loeb el título de pilotos franceses. El automóvil también participó en eventos del Campeonato Mundial de Rally, obteniendo resultados de prestigio. En 1999 Bugalski anotó dos sensacional victoria en el Rally Catalunya-Costa Brava y el Tour de Córcega (esta vez fue dos goles con el español Jesús Puras segundo), superando a todos los oponentes con el más poderoso coche WRC.
