【概要】
スバルの上級セダン/ツーリングワゴン、レガシィシリーズ（LEGACY）。水平対向エンジンと、レオーネバン以来の乗用型の4WDの技術の伝承を意味する。エンジンはSOHC16バルブ1.8L（EJ18）と、新ユニットSOHC16バルブ2.0L（EJ20）、DOHC16バルブ2.0L（EJ20）、同インタークーラーターボが用意され、ターボは220ps（200ps）を発生する。4速ATもしくは5速マニュアルの選択。今回マイナーチェンジが実施され、フロントマスクの変更、リアガーニッシュとリアコンビランプのデザイン変更などでリフレッシュ。エンジン特性を見直している。新グレードとして、1.8Lに特別仕様車として設定していた「TiタイプS」を、2L SOHCに「ブライトン（Brighton）」（4速ATのみ）、2L DOHCに「VZタイプR」を設定した。

This car has a 4 door saloon (sedan) body style with a front positioned engine powering all four wheels. Its 2 litre engine is a turbocharged, double overhead camshaft, 4 cylinder unit that has an output of 197 bhp (200 PS/147 kW) of power at 6000 rpm, and maximum torque of 262 N·m (193 lb·ft/26.7 kgm) at 3600 rpm. The engine powers the wheels compliments of a 5 speed manual transmission. It weighs a claimed 1377 kg at the kerb. It is said to be able to attain a top speed of 219 km/h which is 136 mph.
